The outbreak of the Korean War compelled a significant shift in his family’s trajectory, leading to their evacuation to South Korea.

Teddy’s pursuit of education brought him to Seoul National University, where he delved into the realm of public health. However, it was his venture to the United States in 1973 that marked a pivotal chapter in his life. Settling in Pasadena, California, he embarked on a self-employed journey that would become the backdrop for his extensive community involvement.

Teddy’s arrival in the United States at the age of 33 was marked not only by linguistic challenges but also by a resolute attitude of never refusing any opportunity to serve the community sincerely. His recognition and success in the U.S. political landscape are a testament to this unwavering dedication.
